Building on the interest sparked by fall’s Vocational Publishing with Pressbooks webinar, we’ll take a behind-the-scenes look at the Washington Open ProfTech initiative – this time with a focus on how a complex OER grant project actually gets managed.
Through the team’s lived experiences at the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, we’ll explore what it takes to guide faculty authors, navigate timelines, and sustain momentum while developing high-quality, practice-based open textbooks for technical and professional programs.
The team will share strategies, surprises, and lessons learned along the way, including how humor, flexibility, and strong organization can make even the most challenging projects possible.
Presenters:
- Boyoung Chae, Ph.D., Project Director
- Ashley Montenegro Ramirez, Project Manager
